Our client, a highly reputable and established Landscaping Design Service Provider is in need of an experienced and astute Finance professional to join their dynamic team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities include:
Prime Books of entry
- Creditor journal and allowance journal
- Debtor journal and allowance journal
- Cash book / petty cash book receipt and payment journal, bank reconciliation
- General journals
Balance Sheet
- Asset registers - additions, determining useful life, disposals and depreciation calculations and monthly journals.
- Reconciling register to Accounting Records and Debit loan account reconciliation / charging interest on average balances.
- Balancing inter-company loan accounts
- Inventory write off as per cost centre consumption.
- Reconciliation current assets and debtor age analysis.
- Provision retention
- Accruals Sundry Debtors
- All other provisions and accruals
- Monthly and bi-monthly VAT calculations, reconciliations & submission of VAT201 on E-filing.
- Verification and reconciliation of General Ledger Accounts
Liabilities
- Additions to long term liabilities, provisions for finance charges & reconciliations.
- Credit loan account reconciliation & raising interest on average balance.
- Balancing inter-company loan accounts
- Reviewing supplier recons, balancing age analysis & submit for payment.
- Reconciliation of all other current liabilities.
- Accruals and reconciliation for the following control account PAYE, SDL, UIF, WCA, Union Fees, Funeral Fund, VAT, TAX, Sundry Creditors
- All other provision and accruals
- Verification and reconciliation of General Ledger Accounts
Shareholders Loan Accounts
- Verification and reconciliation of Ledger Accounts
Other General
- Assisting with cost control
- Running monthly financial BIC Reports on accounting software
- TAX Fixed Asset Register
- Compiling audit files for all entities and liaising with auditors
- Processing final year end adjusting journals for all entities
- Updating insurance schedules on a monthly basis and inter-company charges
- Finalisation of payments and confirmation of correctness
- Overdue debtors collections for non-contractual clients
- Any other additional tasks as requested, including minor projects to improve profitability and efficiencies
Minimum Requirements:
- B. Com Degree in Accounting or Finance or similar
- 3-5 Years proven experience as a Financial Accountant ideally within the construction / landscaping / building services industry
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office
- Knowledge on XERO accounting software essential
- In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures
- Solid knowledge of accounting regulations
- Ability to analyse large volumes of data
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English language
- Own reliable transport
