The Head of Finance will be responsible for all financial aspects of the company, including strategic planning, financial reporting, budgeting, and cost management. This critical role requires a seasoned finance professional with a proven track record of transforming non-profitable businesses into profitable enterprises. will work closely with the Board of Directors to drive financial performance and achieve business goals. ROLE-SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES: Key Results Areas / Accountabilities Strategic Financial Leadership: · Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability. · Provide strategic recommendations to the GM based on financial analysis and projections. · Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, the introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory actions. Financial Planning and Analysis: · Lead the annual budgeting and planning process. · Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans. · Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives. Financial Reporting: · Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with laws of the SA. · Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory requirements. · Prepare and present financial reports to the GM, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities as required. Operational Finance Management: · Optimize the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions. · Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, and consolidation, and reporting to the company. · Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations. Risk Management: · Identify and address financial risks and opportunities for the company. · Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards. · Ensure proper insurance coverage to mitigate financial risk. Cost Management: · Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company's actual performance compared to the business plans. · Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives. Team Leadership: · Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team. · Foster a culture of continuous improvement in financial processes and systems. Required Skills Accounting Cost Management Financial Report Writing ROLE-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications & experience · Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration.
