Our in the client Renewables Energy industry is currently looking for an HSE Manager , in Bryanston, Johannesburg. Responsibilities: Collaborate with third party assessors to develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs for installations in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance with health and safety guidelines. Ensure near misses relating to working at height, electrical safety and safe driving are well recorded and trained for Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain a comprehensive and safety training program for employees, ensuring awareness and adherence to safety protocols as well as for suppliers. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrences. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on health and safety matters, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safe work practices. Monitor and analyse health and safety performance metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance safety culture. Stay updated on emerging health and safety regulations, best practices, and industry trends, and ensure compliance with relevant standards. Conduct risk assessments and participate in the development of emergency response plans and business continuity strategies. Coordinate and collaborate with external parties, such as regulatory agencies and auditors, on health and safety inspections and audits. Ensure that all hazardous activities are analysed and required preventive measures are implemented. Develop, implement and maintain employee HSE training programs. Develop and implement efficient operations emergency response plans and ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Provide support to the execution of all global operation emergency response plans and manage all emergency situations. Ensure safety plans and environment/social plans (environment and waste) are specific and compact enough to drive reporting and positive results. Prepare accurate and timely reports on health and safety performance, incidents, and compliance activities. Requirements: Diploma or bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Professional certifications in health and safety, such as NEBOSH or OSHA, are strongly preferred. Proven experience as a HSE Lead or in a similar role, preferably in the energy, construction, or manufacturing industry. In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices. Familiarity with conducting risk assessments and implementing control measures. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with employees and stakeholders at all levels. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and proactively. Proficiency in using health and safety management systems and related software Remuneration: R 60 000 – R 75 000 per month.
