Human Resource Assistant - George - South Africa
The HR Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting our Human Resources department with its day-to-day operations. This position involves assisting with recruitment processes, maintaining employee records, supporting employee relations, and ensuring the smooth operation of HR functions. Key Responsibilities: Assist with recruitment by posting job ads, organizing resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting initial phone screenings. Support the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing employment documents and coordinating orientation sessions. Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records, and documentation. Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to higher-level HR staff. Assist in the administration of HR policies, procedures, and programs. Provide clerical support to the HR department such as copying, faxing, and organizing HR-related documents. Participate in HR projects (e.g., help organize a job fair event). Coordinate logistics for training sessions and meetings. Qualifications: Relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Previous experience as an HR Assistant, HR Administrator, or similar role is advantageous. Familiarity with HR software and computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular). Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Skills: Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent administrative and clerical skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations is a plus. Proactive and eager to learn and grow within the HR field.
