A minimum of 5 years experience with executive management, trust governance, Board and Audit, and/or Risk and Compliance Committee.

- Strong financial aptitude
- Strong financial reporting
- Understanding of community development
- Sound knowledge of the law applicable to Trusts and a good understanding of the fiduciary duties of an Independent Trustee.
Duties and responsibilities:
- take all reasonable steps to fulfil the mandate of the Trust and to ensure that the interests of the Trust and beneficiaries are protected at all times;
- act with due care, diligence and good faith;
- To declare any conflict of interest;
- Act with impartiality in respect of all programmes and beneficiaries;
- To act in accordance with the rules of the Deed of Trust.
Meetings
There are four Board meetings during each financial year, and all trustees should attend unless there is a valid reason for non-attendance. Trustees are expected to contribute meaningfully at meetings.
