A vacancy exists at Nashua (Pty) Ltd for an IR Manager, based in Woodmead, reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer. Purpose: The Industrial Relations Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining positive employee relations, ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations, and handling all labour relations matters within the organization. The role is also expected to assist with the BBBEE process of the company to ensure achievement of company goals, as well as regulatory requirements. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Industrial / Labour Relations Provide advisory services to Line Managers on labour related (IR) matters. Facilitate the management and promotion of fair and sound Labour Relations. Handle Labour law matters and CCMA appearances (CCMA conciliation through to arbitration) and assist with Labour court documentation and referrals. Assist the Franchise channel where required. Represent the company and give guidance during internal disciplinary hearings. Ensure that sanctions are in line with the company's disciplinary code of conduct Attend to CCMA conciliations and/or arbitrations Provide labour relations training and education to line managers as required Assist in the implementation and facilitation of s189 and s197 of the LRA Participate in key strategic and operational discussions on human resources issues Work with the HR and departmental Managers with respect to disciplinary action required,including preparation of documents, investigation of any offence, scheduling and initiating hearings. Ensure continuous revision, internal training and updates are provided on various IR and ER and recent case law and that this is conducted regularly across all levels of management and staff and where necessary coordinate external training on relevant labour matters. Policies & Procedures Ensure policies and procedures are appropriate and in line with best practice and legislative changes. Be informed, research and keep up to date with the South African Labour Law and various acts and changes. Identify operational and reputational risks in the area of Industrial Relations and develop or implement mitigation measures to address issues identified. Assist in the development of IR and ER labour protocols, operating procedures and handbooks. BBBEE Assist in the implementation of BBBEE Manage the BEE123 data base for accurate scorecard planning Capture all BEE related information for verification (all scorecard elements) Assist in the setup and running of EE & Skills committee Reporting & Record Keeping Maintain accurate records of labour relations matters Ensure up - keep of company or employee information remains confidential and POPIA compliant Stakeholder Management This position will interface with the following key stakeholders: Franchise HR and Management teams where required Nashua Ltd Management Nashua Ltd Staff Key Competencies: Honesty / integrity Planning / prioritising & Organising Assertiveness Conflict resolution Reliability / dependability Tolerance to stress Attention to detail Communication skills both verbal and written Judgement & Decisiveness Trustworthy and keep company or employee information confidential Education & Experience Degree/Diploma Human Resources Management (Labour Relations Management Degree or Diploma will be advantageous) Labour dispute resolution experience will be an added advantage 3- 5 years HR and Industrial relations experience Good understanding of Labour Legislations (Specifically LRA, BCEA, EEA, BBBEE & SDA) Good knowledge of CCMA rules and processes Extensive experience specialising in Industrial Relations, showcasing ability to handle labour relations matters such as disciplinary actions, retrenchments, and other HR processe effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office Knowledge of the BEE123 system will be advantageous Must be willing to travel Other Assignments: To perform any assignments if and when requested to do so by the Chief HR Officer.
