A vacancy has risen for a Junior Accountant in the Finance Department at PIMMS Group. Applications are invited from Suitably qualified and responsible person to fill the above-mentioned position. Daily duties include any general accounting related activity, queries, or issues to be resolved. The function is not limited to any specific accounting module and includes overseeing debtors and creditors; overseeing cash book and general ledger modules. All allocations to GL accounts need to be checked and confirmed to ensure reporting is accurate, up to date and verifiable against independent statements and balances. Monthly Income Statement and Balance Sheet movements need to be reported on and any deviations around Actual vs Budget brought to the attention of Management. Schedules, depending on the importance of each balance, need to be prepared and understood. Variances per month need to be understood and approved. All Control Accounts need to be cleared at month end. Any differences need to be understood and brought to the attention of management. Provide financial information to management by researching and analysing accounting data, preparing reports. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures. Guide staff by coordinating activities and answering questions if Debtors/ Creditors and Cashbook clerk, cannot provide an answer. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information. Keep abreast of specific IFRS reporting standards related to the Company for record keeping purposes. Manage all inter-company balances. Process all Payroll related transactions accurately and timeously. Instalment Sale Agreements – process all transactions accurately. Prepare and maintain monthly Fixed Asset Register ensuring depreciation is provided for, additions added, disposals accounted for and that the Register is accurate and up to date representing the assets owned and in use at Pimms. Administrate all accounting related transactions. Perform first review of all Sales Commissions, ensuring accurately prepared by the Sales Team and provide reporting thereof. Prepare cashflow planning schedules in terms of all the above as input into the Group Cashflow. Matric Finance or accounting diploma or degree 3 years accounting experience required Proficiency in Accounting Software and the full Microsoft Office suite Great knowledge of banking admin is essential Must be fluent in English, read, write, speak Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently The remuneration package will be in accordance with the PIMMS Group schedule of salaries
