Reference: E.L002229-AK-1 Our client in the FMCG Industry is recruiting for a Junior SQL Developer. The position will be based in Port Elizabeth. Main Duties/Key Results Areas: Write simple SQL queries to retrieve and update data. Assist in developing and testing basic SQL scripts. Help create and maintain database tables. Troubleshoot basic database issues with support from senior team members. Ensure data accuracy by following established procedures. Support data analysts with data extraction and reporting needs. Help document database processes and procedures. Creation of documentation and case studies. All other tasks and related duties as expected from the employer from time to time. Minimum Qualifications and Experience: A degree or coursework in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Basic understanding of databases and SQL. Experience with writing simple SQL queries (e.g., through coursework or projects). Familiarity with any relational database management system (RDBMS) like MySQL, SQL Server. Knowledge of Excel and Excel functions advantageous. Exposure to data reporting tools like Power BI advantageous. Basic understanding of how to load data (ETL processes) advantageous. Interest in learning more about database performance optimisation. Basic knowledge of version control – GIT advantageous. Basic understanding of SSRS and creation SSRS Reports advantageous. Soft Skills: Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Strong willingness to learn and take direction. Logical thinker. Ability to work well in a team. Ability to take instruction.
