Our client based in Vredendal, has a position available for a dynamic Junior Winemaker to join their team. The ideal candidate is diligent, detail-oriented person with strong interpersonal skills (Afrikaans and English), has the ability to work independently, and has the ability to perform well in both team context and individually. The Junior Winemaker will report to the Cellar Master/Winemakers. Responsibilities (but not limited to): Winemaking process as part of the winemaking team Assisting the winemakers with all allocated tasks Blending and stabilisation of wine Coordination and support of harvest activities Quality control and cellar hygiene Inventory management Cellar staff management Wine cellar administration and record keeping Assist winemakers with overall production of wine Supervision of the correct use of cellar equipment, chemicals and winemaking process Receiving of chemical stock Managing and maintenance of cellar equipment All other functions related to the position Essential qualifications: BSc Agric Viticulture and Oenology, Elsenburg Qualification or similar Skills and experience: Minimum 2 years relevant experience Previous harvest experience (mandatory) Practical leadership and management skills Knowledge of different quality control systems (IPW, HACCP, ISO9001; FSSC22000) Experience with food safety systems and certification as applicable in the wine industry will be to the candidate's advantage Excellent computer proficiency (Excel, Word, Ezypro) Requirements: Reliable own transport with valid driver's license Willingness to work overtime when required, especially during harvest season No Criminal record Closing date: 12 August 2024.
