Namaqua Wines, based in Vredendal, currently has a position available for a dynamic Junior Winemaker to join their team. The Junior Winemaker will report to the Cellar Master and will be responsible for (but not limited to): winemaking process as part of the winemaking team Assisting the Winemakers and Celler Master with allocated winemaking tasks blending and stabilisation of wine coordination and support of harvest activities quality control and cellar hygiene inventory management cellar staff management wine cellar administration and record keeping assist with overall production of wine supervision of the correct use of cellar equipment, chemicals and winemaking process receiving of chemical stock managing and maintenance of cellar equipment all other functions related to the position. • BSc Agric Viticulture and Oenology, Elsenburg Qualification or similar; • Minimum 2 years relevant experience • Previous harvest experience (mandatory) • Practical leadership and management skills • Knowledge of different quality control systems (IPW, HACCP, ISO9001; FSSC22000) • Experience with food safety systems and certification as applicable in the wine industry Will be to the candidate's advantage • Excellent computer proficiency (Excel, Word, Ezypro); • Reliable own transport with valid driver's license; • Willingness to work overtime when required, especially during harvest season • No Criminal record
