Logistics Controller - East London
LOGISTICS CONTROLLER / EAST LONDON
Minimum requirements;
Matric/Grade 12
Excellent communication in Afrikaans and English
Must have experience working in Logistics, Imports environment
Experience with costings/pricing will be advantageous
Highly Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Excel (Advanced), Word, Outlook
Pastel Experience advantageous
Excellent written communication
Responsibilities ;
Dealing with production schedules from suppliers alongside imports manager
Managing timelines for all containers
Dealing with container deliveries & communication from point of origin to final delivery.
Collecting and checking and consolidating all paperwork for containers/clearing of shipments
Arranging all logistics, transport of stock between branches, logistics from local suppliers to branches
Daily updating of import schedules with information from suppliers/clearing agents
Maintaining local transport schedules
Present new purchase orders to Imports manager to assign a clearing agent
Getting transport quotes from local hauliers
Container document packs
Checking sailings from different shipping lines using online portal, confirming availability & freight costs with clearing agents/supplier logistics team and passing on this information to the procurement clerk.
Salary: Market related depending on experience
