The Maintenance Foreman is also in charge of managing the maintenance team, ensuring compliance with security, safety, health, environmental standards, and maintaining inventory of spare parts and tools. The Maintenance Foreman reports to the Plant Engineering Manager and works closely with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient production. Key Performance Areas Plan, schedule, and supervise the maintenance and repair of the company's machinery, equipment, and facilities, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems (following TPM principles). Assign and monitor the work of the maintenance team (including maintenance planning), ensuring quality of maintenance and timeliness of service. Train, coach, evaluate and monitor the performance of the maintenance staff, providing feedback and guidance. Ensure compliance with the company's policies and procedures, as well as local and national rules, regulations and standards, regarding health, safety, and environmental issues. Conduct regular inspections and audits of the company's machinery, equipment, and facilities, identifying and resolving any issues or risks (manage company asset register, as per policies and procedures). Maintain accurate and updated records of the maintenance activities, trends, costs, and inventory. Coordinate with external contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, as needed, for the procurement and delivery of spare parts, tools, and services. Provide technical support and advice to other departments, as required, for the operation and maintenance of the company's machinery, equipment, and facilities (N.B: work closely with the Tool-room as well). Report any near misses, incidents, accidents, risk hazards or malfunctions to the Plant engineering Manager and take corrective and preventive actions, as necessary. Minimum Qualifications and Experience Minimum of 8 - 10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the automotive/manufacturing industry. Relevant trade certificate or diploma in mechanical, electrical, or automation engineering, or equivalent (will be beneficial). Valid driver's license and ability to operate various types of vehicles and equipment. Strong knowledge and skills in various maintenance and repair techniques and tools, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems (understand maintenance strategies and methodologies: TPM-principles, preventative maintenance, condition monitoring, scheduled replacement, automation, PLC's, robotics, etc.). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. High attention to detail, quality, and safety, with the ability to identify and solve problems effectively and efficiently. Good organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications, as well as basic math and literacy skills. Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work under pressure, overtime and weekends (if and when required) and in various weather conditions. Government Ticket: Possesses a valid government-issued certificate or license that authorizes the holder to perform maintenance and repair work on regulated machinery, equipment, and facilities (will be beneficial).
