To ensure that the hotel facilities, plant & machinery, guest areas, facade and guest rooms are maintained in working order & gaining optimum lifespan through leading the maintenance team in the delivery of maintenance services. SKILLS: • Develop an action plan for Maintenance. • Develop a service culture within Maintenance consistent with the Brand and Hotel by articulating requests from guests in such a way it is relevant and accurate and resolving guests complaints to the satisfaction of the guest. • Provide staff and guests with appropriate information • Prepare, set and implement financial controls and procedures as per Company requirements for Maintenance. • Provide information for commentary related to Maintenance performance as well as for budgeting purposes. • Generating recommendations for improvement to product and service delivery in all Maintenance Areas. • Apply management and leadership principles and processes. • Apply Human Resources and Industrial Relations practices in line with legislation and company policy. • Develop succession plans for individuals and apply training and development plans and systems. • Manage performance of staff in line with job description requirements. • Conduct effective meetings and briefings. • Manage stock levels and purchasing requirements. • Implement Maintenance operating procedures in line with minimum Company requirements. • Develop relationships with own team and managers in other functional areas. • Handle all emergency situations and contingencies in line with emergency procedures. • Conduct regular staff and Health and Safety management meetings. • Communicate information to staff and other departments to satisfy guests needs. • Develop and update policy and procedure manuals. • Analyse relevant reports eg, Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) program; Energy utilization reports. • Maintain accurate, up to date Maintenance Service administrative systems. • Accumulate information, record data, and compile reports for process improvement. • Source and purchase items such as: all building supplies and mechanical equipment needs in maintenance department. • Research new trends and recommend changes. • Operate all systems and use all resources pertaining to this job eg, Midas, Pabx, Paging system. Building management System, SAFLOCK, Parking System, Video on demand and TV system, Network administration, CCTV System etc. • Operate a computer and relevant software. • Implement sound environmental procedures and practices - Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) program and the and Occupational, Safety and Health Act. Minimum Requirements : Grade 12 (NQF level 4) Electrical, mechanical or plumbing certification would be an advantage. At least 2 years' experience in similar role of large property. Apply Now
