Granor Passi (Pty) Ltd, a leading fruit processor in South Africa, its Head Office situated in Polokwane (Limpopo), seeks to employ a Maintenance Manager at our Letsitele factory to monitor, control and direct the activities of the maintenance team and external contractors to ensure the smooth and efficient daily operation of all machinery and services for production. Ensure that all machines are maintained to the standards of the company, either by subordinates or outside contractors, according to the Company's planned maintenance system. Record changes to planned maintenance system. Ensure that all breakdowns of machines are attended to within the shortest possible time and that machines are handed over to production in a clean and safe condition. Ensure that all change-overs of machines are attended to within the shortest possible time and that machines are handed over to production in a clean and safe condition. Plan and execute projects related to new product development and productivity savings initiatives within the agreed timetable. Ensure that electrical and mechanical safety standards are followed and that safe working conditions exist according to company and government regulations. Report unsafe machinery, unsafe work practices of engineering staff or production staff and where necessary institute corrective action. Ensure that good housekeeping practices are kept in the workshop area and that all machines maintained and repaired are left in an acceptable condition. Is actively involved in Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety and Quality programs, co-ordinate activities of subordinates to meet requirements of these programmes and plan and execute requirements of the programmes. Manage the section within time and budget Plan, select, develop and maintain suitable manpower capabilities for the function. Develop, lead and maintain a motivated and high performance team. Identify and timeously address functional related problems and opportunities. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders Provide technical direction. Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements and internationally accepted environmental, health, safety and quality standards. Grade 12 with Maths and Science N6 National Certificate in Engineering Qualified Millwright Artisan 5 years' experience hands-on as a Millwright in a food environment, of which at least 2 years' experience in management/supervisory capacity Computer literacy (MS office, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects etc.) Valid driver's license Fluent in English Knowledge of quality and food safety standards i.e., ISO 9001, HACCP and FSSC 22000 Excellent people management skills Hands on approach Deadline driven Accuracy with figures Ability to motivate employees Knowledge of requirements of Occupational Health and Safety Act is essential Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
