Required Qualifications: 3 year Diploma, preferably in Engineering A Trade Test would be an advantage Required Experience: 3-5 years experience in a maintenance environment Key Responsibilities: Operations Management Drives Engineering Asset productivity through agreed KPIs and efficiencies. Reports on a daily basis on actual Engineering KPIs vs budget and works with engineering team to address areas of non conformance or concern proactively and timeously. Manages Engineering Staff time keeping, leave rosters and attendance. Co-ordinate Planned Maintenance program with other functional areas to ensure optimal production efficiencies. Implements Operational asset productivity and care plan through: Planned maintenance strategy and maintenance tactics. Investigating root cause of breakdowns. Identifying and escalating high risk maintenance issues. Delegating resources to planned maintenance and breakdowns. Drives workshop appearance and image through housekeeping, frontline customer and supplier interaction. Drives and implements engineering projects and drives project management principles within the Engineering Team. Management of Safety Health Environment, Risk and Quality (SHERQ) Ensures that all legislative and Industry standards are achieved and timeous action is taken where required to ensure that there are no areas of noncompliance within Maintenance. Implements maintenance occupational health and safety compliance to all relevant legal requirements. Implements the adherence and maintenance of ISO 9000/22 000/14 000/ 18 000 standards within the Total Integrated Management System throughout maintenance. Ensure that documentation required within the Total Integrated Management system, is applied consistently throughout maintenance. Monitors and verifies contractor compliance with the OSHACT, and authorises access to complying contractors to site Finds opportunities to implement better working practices in regards to ISO. Environmental, health and safety and Feed Safety. Customer Service Management Supports production in achieving KPIs through planned maintenance strategy in order to achieve service through KPI and efficiency achievement. Outsourced Contractor Management Supervises and assigns maintenance work to contractors on a daily basis, ensuring clear allocation of responsibility and accountability. Financial Management Implements and encourages cost cutting initiatives within the Maintenance department where these do not impact on long term business sustainability. Team Leadership Leads Maintenance team towards meeting targets – through regular communication and utilisation of full organisational talent management tool set. Implements Maintenance succession plans to enable the development of a future generation of leaders and specialists and ensure optimal turnover and retention levels are maintained. Implements training and development of Maintenance team through utilising available training opportunities or contributing to the development of new training solutions in collaboration with regional and national training specialists. Conducts regular performance appraisals with subordinates and ensure that the process is cascaded throughout the Maintenance team. Conducts meetings and ensures that records are kept and shared across the team and that action plans agreed to within team meetings are delivered upon. Ensures all other relevant Maintenance meetings take place. Manages employee relations climate and ensure corrective action is taken where required in line with relevant legislation and company policy. Apply Now
