We are a statutory body charged with the mandate to regulate the engineering profession in accordance with the Engineering Profession Act 46 of 2000. Position Summary : The Manager: International Relations vacancy has become available. This position will be responsible for the Management and Administration of our international relations functions in line with the International Relations Framework; Knowledge and Skills Transfer Framework; Mentorship Framework; and International Relations Policy.The successful candidate will report to the Executive: Regulatory Services and International Relations . The seniority and grading of the role will be determined during the recruitment process Managing the activities of the International Relations Business Unit; Manage effective communication within the Business Unit; Manage and create a conducive environment for highly motivated and productive staff for the IR Business Unit; Manage International Relations Business Unit Staff performance; Develop work performance standards for both employees and review committees for the Business Unit in consultation with the Executive; Planning for the Departments future needs and operations in consultation with the Executive; Prepares and agrees to the annual budget for IR Business Unit functional and support costs; Authorizes (within agreed financial limits) costs related to Department Operations; Monitors spending regularly and submit monthly reports to Finance; Leads international Relations Policy, Standards and Procedure development to achieve core organizational goals; Manages International Relations Policy , Standards and Procedures development and review; Initiates and Manages development and review of the International Relations; Develop operational procedures and work instructions for the International Relations Business Unit; Implements International Relations Frameworks, Policy, Standards. Procedures and process flows and initiatives and stakeholders like international Engineering Alliance and constituent Accords and Competency Agreements; Identify deficiency in the International Relations Frameworks, Policy, Standards and Procedures and plan for improvements; Prepare and submit quarterly performance information and the annual report inputs for the IR Business Unit; Compiles and assures quality and submits reports as required; Assist the Executive in the development of the Annual Performance Plans; Develop Operational Plan for the IR Business Unit; Provide advice on international relations and international engagements matters to interested parties; Review of the operational procedures and work; Review Agenda and Minutes prior to dispatch to the Research, Policy and Standards Committee in consultation with the Executive; Work closely with the International Relations Advisory Task Team; Provides inputs on various Agenda items as required; Prepares and forwards documentation to other relevant Council Committees as required. Qualifications and other requirements: Bachelor's degree in international relations or equivalent; Minimum of ten (10) years work experience with three (3) years in International Relations , International Stakeholder Relationships, Management and Engagement. Required Skills/Abilities: United Nations Charter; Viena Convention on the Law of Treaties; 1961 Viena Convention on Diplomatic Relations; 1963 Viena Convention on Consular Relations; Foreign Affairs Policies; DPWI International Relations Strategy; South Africa Constitution; Engineering Professions Act, ECSA International Relations Frameworks, policies, and Standards; International relations; negotiation, diplomacy, international protocols, and etiquette; Legislation, Development of Policies, Procedures and Standards; and Project Management.
