The Senior Manager is responsible for achievement of the high-level outputs for the registration lifecycle as derived from our Strategy and Annual Performance Plans. The registration lifecycle of an engineering practitioner includes all matters related to education evaluation, registration as Candidate and Professional, and continuing professional development (CPD) compliance towards renewal of registration. In addition, the Senior Manager is responsible for the retention and growth of relevant recognised Voluntary Associations, Licenced Bodies, and Service Providers Develop the strategic plan and the annual performance plan of the business unit, and lead in the development of concomitant operational plans as it relates to the registration lifecycle; Manage resources with care and efficiency to ensure the effective implementation of the statutory requirements as mandated to Council in regard to Registration, Renewal and the Recognition of Voluntary Associations (sections 18, 19, 22 and 25 of the Engineering Profession Act 46 of 2000; CPD Rules and Standard; Recognition Framework for Voluntary Associations); Provide inputs to the review of the legislative and regulatory framework governing all matters related to Registration and Compliance; Work closely with the Executive Statutory Services and the Executive Strategy and Growth to enhance the value proposition to registered persons, thereby assisting with the natural growth of the database; Continually monitor and update the risk register as it pertains to the registration lifecycle and initiate projects with measurable outputs to mitigate risk and quality assure processes and services, inclusive of the efficient close-out of negative audit findings as relevant from time-to-time; Ensure clean audit findings in relation to internal audits as required from time-to-time, as well as the management of external/ forensic audit RFIs; Monitor the implementation of operational plans, manage deviations, and ensure alignment of process maps/ workflows and required turn-around times of the stages in the registration lifecycle; Optimise standard operating procedures and all processes relevant to Registration throughout the lifecycle of the engineering practitioner; Oversee the necessary inputs into system development for an efficient digital registration process; Contribute to the review and development of registration-related policies and standards, while managing full adherence thereto by staff working in the unit, as well as registered persons employed by the ECSA from time-to-time to perform duties as virtual panel members in education evaluations, registration assessments, moderations and interviews, as well as audit functions; Develop data-driven quarterly reports on the progress towards the achievement of key performance targets of the registration unit, inclusive of in-time registration statistics, trends analyses, transformation initiatives, conversion rates and the growth and outlook of the database of registered persons Duties as required A qualification in Engineering as accredited by ECSA . A postgraduate qualification in Engineering/ Systems Engineering/ Engineering Management and/or Business Management/ Administration will be an added advantage . ECSA Registration and a record of being in good standing for a period of longer than 5 years. A minimum of 15 year's proven work experience.
