To ensure all equipment are serviced on time every time to manufacturer's specification Attend to all breakdowns timeously Complete job cards in detail after every repair or service is completed Order all parts through the requisition system Report (on a daily basis) any equipment that will be standing overnight or where repairs remain incomplete Determine cause of failure each time a repair is carried out Monitor costs on all equipment in conjunction with Head Office Carry out weekly checks and inspections on all equipment (Chains, lubrication of spreaders – done weekly) Carry out monthly quality inspections on all equipment Ensure equipment is load tested and complies with the OSHACT at all times and/or any other statutory requirements Conduct driver evaluation and provide advice where necessary Perform accurate inventory control Maintain health and safety compliance at all times Will be required to repair and maintain equipment at other MSC sites in South Africa as and when required To develop and maintain a preventative maintenance programme and procedures for unscheduled maintenance in order to minimize costs and downtime 3-5 years of experience Computer literate Trade Certified Diesel Mechanic Good communication skills Good problem solving skills Attention to detail Must be willing to work overtime and be on standby on weekends and public holidays as and when required.
