Unique Personnel boasts over 50 years (established in 1970) of personnel and staffing experience, so it's not surprising that even though our main focus has been providing on South African Staffing Solutions, we now recruit internationally for over 5000 clients Reporting to Managing Director Job Purpose: The role of the Mechanical Design Engineer is to produce equipment outline drawings, layouts for end customer, produce full equipment detailed drawings, layouts and procedures to enable manufacturing and interpret customer requirements and technical specifications. Responsibilities Include: Create drawings and models in 3D (Inventor) across the company's range of products. Work to set schedules for completion of models and drawings. Complete final design of equipment & issue to customer with mechanical drawings for approval, along with component / assembly / manufacturing drawings. Produce Manufacturing Instructions (MI's) & all drawings for procurement of Contract Specific equipment. Read and comprehend customer specifications for contract specific orders and apply to the product. Keep contract / job files up to date with any drawing changes & issue these to manufacturing / customer Liaise with other internal departments - sales, engineering, purchasing, production, and quality to ensure accuracy and delivery of projects to specification. Assist sales in technical questions / request for drawings and mechanical detail. Required Education & Experience : Matric with Mechanical Engineering Degree 2 – 5 years' experience in Design Engineering AutoCAD experience essential Inventor 3D experience essential Previous experience in similar industry advantageous Proficiency in Microsoft Office Key Skills: Attention to detail Technically minded Analytical skills Good interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Problem solving Results and deadline driven Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal Good time management Must be able to work under pressure
