Competitive rates. LOCATION: RUSTENBURG, NW The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the mechanical aspects of the smelter rebuild construction projects. This role involves ensuring that all mechanical work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. The Mechanical Supervisor will lead a team of skilled workers, coordinate with other departments, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and project specifications. Physical Requirement : Certificate of fitness and ability to work in challenging conditions typical of smelter sites. SHE Requirement Site Specific Induction Additional Requirements: Ability to work in a highpressure environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as necessary to meet project deadlines. Ensure the all-project team members always have ready access to the latest revision of project-controlled documents. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Project Management: Oversee mechanical reconstruction activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other supervisors to align mechanical work with overall project plans. Prepare and manage daily work schedules for the mechanical team. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of mechanical technicians and other skilled workers. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project goals, updates, and safety protocols. Assess team performance and provide training and development opportunities as needed. Technical Oversight: Inspect mechanical installations and repairs to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues that arise during the rebuild process. Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of mechanical equipment and tools. Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, and address any identified hazards promptly. Ensure compliance with all codes and standards relevant to smelter rebuilds construction projects. Quality Control: Implement quality assurance measures to ensure all mechanical work is completed to the highest standard. Review and approve mechanical work completed by team members. Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and maintenance activities. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on project progress, mechanical issues, and team performance. Maintain comprehensive documentation of mechanical work, including drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including project managers, clients, and regulatory bodies. Report on own Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Governance Contribute to project audits with regards to policies, procedures, and systems. -Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the smelter rebuilds or heavy industrial sector. -Strong leadership and team management abilities. -In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment used in smelter rebuilds. -Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics. -Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Qualifications : -Grade 12 -Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Market Related.
