The ideal candidate will need 2 to 3 years' experience in a similar or related role. A good understanding of interior design principles and retail operations will be beneficial. As a Visual Merchandise Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting the VM creative and leadership team in creating captivating retail environments that showcase our interior products and enhance the overall customer experience. The main purpose of the role will be to produce materials, set schedules, help with administrative tasks and provide creative input. Visual creativity is required. Main Responsibilities: Fabric Orders: Coordinate with suppliers to place fabric orders based on inventory needs, windows and launch schedules, ensuring timely delivery. Executing Production: Develop production worksheets outlining requirements for fabric drops, furniture arrangements, display hardware setup, etc., and oversee the execution to ensure adherence to design plans and timelines. Track Costings: Maintain detailed spreadsheets to track costs associated with fabric orders, seasonal launches, windows and special projects, ensuring accurate budget management. Time Schedule: Develop and maintain a time schedule for visual merchandising updates, including changes of wallpapers, displays, curtains, etc., to ensure displays are refreshed regularly and in line with seasonal trends and promotions. Ensuring No Discontinued Items Are on Display: Regularly audit displays to ensure discontinued items are removed, coordinating with procurement and inventory teams to update product offerings accordingly. Administrating Department Traveling : Arrange travel logistics for department members, including booking flights, accommodations, and car rentals for sourcing trips, supplier meetings, or store visits. Collecting Samples from Different Suppliers: Liaise with various suppliers to collect samples of fabrics, materials, and display items for evaluation and inclusion in visual merchandising displays. Assist VM Team on the Floor with Implementation: Provide hands-on support to the VM team during display setup and implementation, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in execution. Coordinating In-store Signage: Collaborate with the marketing team to coordinate in-store signage, including briefing on requirements, overseeing printing, and distributing to stores as needed. Computer Literacy: Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to create spreadsheets, documents, and presentations necessary for tracking, reporting, and communication purposes. Occasionally Help with Recons (Credit Card): Assist with reconciliations of credit card transactions, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with financial procedures. Minimum requirements: National Senior Certificate. Diploma in Interior design, visual merchandising, or related field (advantageous). 2 to 3 years of experience in an administrating/production coordinating role, or a related role within the retail sector. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with excellent attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments.
