Millwright - - Johannesburg

A Food based processing company in the Johannesburg area is looking for a qualified Millwright with field experience in the Food/FMCG industry

Responsibilities

Responsible for the smooth running of a variety of specialised Plant equipment as per the company and customer needs (Mostly at the customers site)
Assist the Worshop Supervisor with scheduling of service and repair work, and any other related customer requirements
Respond promptly to internal/external customers with respect to queries, complaints and technical advice and or trouble shooting
Immediate response to breakdowns ensuring equipment is returned promptly to service – including prompt and accurate feedback to customers
Complete scheduled equipment services as per various equipment requirements
Ability to analyse, troubleshoot and solve the cause of various equipment problems
Must be able to read and understand technical drawings (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic), including P&ID drawings
Arrange quotes/costs for customers in order to authorise and expedite repairs
Ensure the correct spares are acquired in order to repair equipment efficiently
Follow up with clients following repairs/services/queries where relevant
Assist with periodic stock counts as required by operations
Comply with all safety requirements, whether in plant, workshop or on site
Promote and maintain clean work areas/equipment as far as is practically possible
Provide assistance/advice/training to staff where it may be needed

Requirements

Grade 12/N3
Valid driver’s license
Able to travel extensively to customer sites
Must have red seal Millwright Trade Test certificate
Must Have 4 – 8 years Millwright experience after completion of Millwright Trade Test
Experience in a food/FMCG environment is preferred, with previous experience in other industries involving processing equipment would be advantageous
Must be able to work standby and overtime on a rotational basis
Good people and communication skills are essential
