RESPONSIBILITY OF JOB: To ensure high plant availability by carrying out repairs, maintenance, plant modifications and installations. All work must be in accordance with agreed standards.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

All maintenance, modifications and repairs are carried out to ensure plant availability of at least 95%

Work planned by the Engineering Manager and Maintenance Foreman must be carried out to the correct standards and allocated time.

Preventative maintenance and monitoring is performed on a daily basis and areas of concern are immediately reported to the Maintenance Foreman

Liaising with the production personnel to determine problem areas on the plant is done on a daily basis

Breakdowns are to be attended to immediately and rectified in the shortest time possible. Serious breakdowns occurring after normal working hours are to be reported to the Maintenance Foreman within 60 minutes of breakdown

Suggestion and ideas to be discussed with the Maintenance Foreman on improving the plant

All work to be done without neglecting safety, legislation, policies and procedures.

The best quality and service is to be given when maintaining, modifying, fabricating or installing equipment to the plant

Correct start up and shut down procedures of equipment to be followed at all times

All electrical installations, wiring and panels to be in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Note: The above points do not constitute the incumbents sole job function, the incumbent should use these points as a guideline. The incumbents direct superior can request the incumbent to complete other tasks that are in line with the job specification.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM: FUNCTIONS

Qualifications Std 10 / N3 Trade tested Millwright with min 10 years experience.
Experience in maintenance of injection moulding machines, tooling and related equipment.
Specific knowledge: Krauss Maffei and Engel Machines
Must have good technical knowledge Must be able to communicate, read and write in English Must have good knowledge of OHSA, NOSA and BSI ISO 9001 2000
Must be able to work with little or no supervision
Must be able to work under pressure
