Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Network Administrator to manage and maintain our local and Data Centre infrastructure. The role involves ensuring that the network systems operate efficiently and effectively, meeting the organization's communication needs.
Responsibilities:
- Networking fundamentals: You should have a strong foundation in the basics of networking, such as TCP/IP, routing, switching, and subnetting.
- Network security: You should be familiar with network security technologies and best practices, such as firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS), and security policies.
- Operating systems: You should be proficient in working with different operating systems, including Windows and Linux.
- Cloud: You should be familiar with cloud computing platforms and technologies, such as Azure. Exposure to Meraki an advantage.
- Network monitoring and management tools: You should be proficient in using network monitoring and management tools, such as OpManager
- Network troubleshooting: You should have a strong troubleshooting mindset and be able to identify and resolve network issues quickly.
- Communication skills: You should be able to communicate effectively with other members of the IT team, as well as with non-technical stakeholders.
- Documentation skills: You should be able to document your work effectively and create detailed network diagrams, reports, and other documentation.
- Continuous learning: You should be willing to continuously learn and stay up to date with the latest technologies and trends in the networking field.
Qualifications and Experience:
Matric - Grade 12
A valid CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification is ESSENTIAL
At least 3 years’ relevant experience as a Network Administrator is required
Experience with Firewalls advantageous
In-depth understanding of communication protocols and routing protocols.
Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools.
Experience in configuring LAN and WAN environments
