The Network Infrastructure Specialist must have experience in providing specialised support for network services, concentrating on all aspects of network infrastructure (LAN/WLAN/Mesh), tailored to meet the needs of all mining operations.
Key outputs:- Monitor the work and overall performance of regional network and voice technology systems for regional operations.
- Evaluate and ensure processing performance relating to system and machine utilisation, reliability and capacity
- Forecast financial, physical, and human resource needs to meet established objectives.
- Manage all licensing exposure within the networking, voice and perimeter security infrastructure.
- Provide specialised support for network services, concentrating on all aspects of network infrastructure (LAN/WLAN/Mesh), tailored to meet the needs of all operations.
- Manage all risks relating to Regions Network Infrastructure.
- Efficiently oversee expenses related to the network infrastructure within the region, ensuring transparency and effectiveness in managing investment decisions and budget allocations to maintain equipment health.
- Perform a monthly assessment of service delivery within the region, with a specific focus on support vendor contributions. Oversee vendor performance to ensure adherence to contractual obligations for services and projects, including those directly impacting the Business Units (BUs).
- Serve as the primary escalation point for regional incidents or intricate site incidents concerning networking and communication infrastructure.
- Understand technological trends and use this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterpriseâs competitive edge.
- Oversee and coordinate frameworks, designs, blueprints and restoration plans that isolate problems and implement pre-planned alternative routes or systems to restore service in networks and communication environments.
- Promote and enforce business and technology standards, as well as best practices, within Networking environments.
Qualifications:- CompTIA Security+
- Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate â Routing and Switching (CCNA)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate â Security (CCNA-Security)z
- An undergraduate qualification (bachelorâs degree or equivalent) in the relevant IM Discipline and Technical
Technical knowledge:- Proficiency in networking protocols, network security and information management systems is essential.
- Proficiency in specialized tools and technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network monitoring software, is essential.
- Ensure vendors are held accountable for meeting SLA indicators.
- Liaise with solutions design and architecture to ensure that roadmaps are followed and services are introduced with excellence.
- Analyse and identify root causes of risk and quantify potential business impact.
- Engage with key stakeholders and understand their process requirements.
- Implement best-fit solutions to meet stakeholder requirements and contribute to region process enhancements.
- Perform continuous monitoring reviews and measure defined quality and quantity indicators.
- Interpret policy and explain why work needs to be completed in a particular manner.
