Dive into engineering assessment, design, troubleshooting, and root cause failure analysis We’re on the lookout for a talented individual to join a dynamic team as a Mechanical Engineer, specializing in blowers and pumps. This role is based in Booysens, Johannesburg. Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng Mechanical Engineering). At least 1 year of hands-on experience with industrial blowers. Job Experience & Skills Required: Bring your machinery engineering expertise to the table, supporting equipment design and performance optimization. Provide asset support for various machinery, including centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, hydraulic turbines, compressors, fans, and multi-phase pumps. Keep an eagle eye on machinery performance, continuously driving improvements. Translate concepts into technical drawings, 3D schematics, and CAD models tailored to customer requirements. Lead new projects, oversee product development, and ensure top-notch quality control through project execution. Take the reins in driving changes to machinery tech and work practices, boosting plant reliability and profitability. Team up with Maintenance and Operations crews, as well as other engineering disciplines, to catalyze cross-functional improvements. Lend your engineering prowess to machinery modifications, installations, and commissioning. Play an active role in safety and risk assessments, contributing to safety incident investigations. Be the go-to support during unit/equipment turnarounds and start-ups. Craft equipment strategies with a keen eye on reliability, availability, and maintenance cost. Add your stamp to capital projects, drafting design specs, overseeing contractor/vendor designs, and providing on-the-ground support during testing and start-up.
