New Business Development Manager - Paints/Coatings / Construction Manufacturing - Johannesburg

Minimum requirements for the role:
  • Previous sales experience having sold chemical raw materials into the paints and coatings or construction chemical or adhesive manufacturing industry is essential for the role.
  • The company is also keen to consider someone without sales experience who has worked in a technical role within the paints and or coatings or related markets and who would like to move into a sales role calling on customers.
  • The successful candidate must be a strong team player with the ability to build and foster relationships.
  • Must be fast paced, results and sales driven with a strong sales force.
  • Must have a good business acumen with good analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills is essential.
  • Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Managing key accounts and strategically developing new business for the company within the paints and coatings and construction chemical raw material manufacturing industries.
  • Developing and implementing a multi-annual strategic plan based upon the company strategy and customer expectations.
  • Developing and implementing key account plans and strategies to ensure sales targets and objectives are on target.
  • Developing a transverse relationship with the customer and ensuring strategic alignment.
  • Establishing and achieving monthly and annual budgets, based on customer information and forecasts and preparing annual budgets for senior management.
  • Identifying new business opportunities by leveraging the full potential of the companys product and services portfolio.
  • Identifying customer needs and driving opportunities in agreement with the commercial business strategy and the market in order to increase customer profitability for sustainable and profitable mutual growth.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Ensuring timeous and correct delivery of goods to customers.
  • Effectively implementing price increases and maintaining monthly / quarterly price lists to customers.
  • Managing and driving potential suppliers of paint raw materials.
  • Hosting overseas principals that the company is representing.
