Employment Type: 12 - 24 Months Annual Renewable Contract
Role Summary:
The Outsourced Accounting Client Manager will manage a diverse portfolio of entrepreneurial, owner-managed businesses, delivering comprehensive outsourced accounting services. This role includes supervising and guiding a team to ensure efficient service delivery, including Statutory Accounts, Bookkeeping, and VAT Compliance. Additionally, the Client Manager will be pivotal in setting up and leading the new South African team.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervisory Duties:
- Team Management: Oversee daily activities of Junior Accountants, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior team members to foster professional development.
- Work Allocation: Delegate tasks effectively to balance workload and maintain productivity.
Client Service and Relationship Management:
- Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring proactive and clear communication.
- Needs Assessment: Understand clients' business objectives and challenges to offer tailored solutions.
- Client Meetings: Conduct regular meetings to review financial performance and discuss strategies.
Technical Accounting and Compliance:
- Statutory Accounts Preparation: Supervise the preparation of statutory accounts in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Management Accounts: Oversee the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts, providing insights and recommendations.
- VAT Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of VAT returns.
Project Management:
- Process Oversight: Manage end-to-end processes for various accounting projects.
- Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams and clients to meet project milestones.
- Technology Implementation: Support the integration of new accounting technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the generation of financial reports and statements for actionable insights.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist clients with budgeting and forecasting, offering strategic advice.
Continuous Improvement:
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements in accounting processes.
- Training and Development: Stay current with industry trends and best practices, sharing knowledge with the team.
- Client Feedback: Gather and act on client feedback to continuously improve service quality.
Requirements:
- ACCA, CIMA, CA(SA) qualififed.
- Extensive experience in a practice environment, including management accounts, statutory accounts, and VAT return preparation.
- Proficiency in accounting software, notably Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks.
- Excellent project management, client portfolio management, and time management skills.
- Proven ability to build strong client relationships and deliver exceptional client experiences.
- Strong mentoring and coaching abilities, focusing on team development.
