To service, repair and maintain vehicles, LDV's and trucks Duties: • Receive the workshop job card and check its content for accuracy and understanding • Attend to office hour & after hour breakdowns • Job cards sign off • Ensure all parts and oils used on job is booked to job card • Perform all maintenance services in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and the maintenance schedule/maintenance computer • Perform all visual inspections, calibration work, adjustments etc. • Identify deviations, irregularities and unusual wear and tear and give feedback to Workshop Foreman • Inspect disassembled and dismantled parts and replace them with new or reconditioned parts • Return parts (old/unusable parts) and document the work carried out • Compare the current state of the vehicle with common production configurations and evaluate its technical condition • Perform final checks on the vehicle being repaired, and that the vehicle is roadworthy and functionally reliable • Ensure dress code is in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures • Maintain housekeeping standards daily • Ensure standards of Health and Safety are maintained Requirements: • Grade 12 • Trade tested Automotive Diesel Mechanic • Valid Code C (10) or EC (14) driver's license • Minimum of 3 years post trade test experience PANEL BEATER Role Objective: To repair vehicles and trucks that require panel beating to the highest standard of repair, understanding that turnaround time and quality is critical. Main Responsibilities: Strip and access damage. Ensure job card is correct regarding damage and repairs that needs to be undertaken. Advise Workshop Manager of requirements Applying discretionary expertise to repair versus replacement. Signing for all new parts from store. Have new parts painted. Fitting all parts, to the required level of expertise, to the vehicle understanding that quality control is built into the repair process. Discussing delays with the /Workshop Manager Working overtime if required. Ensure safety and health issues are addressed and maintained. Clean and assist with general workshop housekeeping. Attend departmental meeting to ensure effective communication Provide feedback to Workshop Manager Minimum Requirements: Qualified Automotive Body Repairer (Red Seal Certificate) Minimum of 3 years working experience within an automotive body shop essential Own Transport Essential Competencies: Planning and Organising Following Instructions and Procedures. Understanding mechanical repairs Experience with general automotive body repair equipment Remuneration: Negotiable around R25000
