Pastry Sous Chef - Hazyview
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef on menu development and seasonal offerings.
Supervise and train junior pastry staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and standards.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in the pastry kitchen.
Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control of pastry ingredients and supplies.
Monitor and ensure the quality and consistency of pastry products.
Contribute to the creation of innovative and visually stunning dessert displays.
Ensure timely and efficient service during peak hours and special events.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role in a high-end or fine dining establishment.
Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and ingredient properties.
Creativity and attention to detail in dessert presentation and flavor profiles.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
Culinary degree or relevant certification in pastry arts is preferred.
