Pastry Sous Chef - Hazyview

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef on menu development and seasonal offerings.
  • Supervise and train junior pastry staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and standards.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and cleanliness in the pastry kitchen.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control of pastry ingredients and supplies.
  • Monitor and ensure the quality and consistency of pastry products.
  • Contribute to the creation of innovative and visually stunning dessert displays.
  • Ensure timely and efficient service during peak hours and special events.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role in a high-end or fine dining establishment.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and ingredient properties.
  • Creativity and attention to detail in dessert presentation and flavor profiles.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification in pastry arts is preferred.
