Responsibilities:
- Measuring and Cutting: Measure the artwork or item to be framed accurately to ensure the frame fits perfectly. This involves precise measurements and cutting of materials like wooden or metal frame moldings, mat boards, and glass.
- Assembly: Once the materials are cut to size, assemble them into the final frame. This includes joining the frame pieces together using various techniques such as miter joints or using framing equipment like a frame joiner.
- Mounting: Mount the artwork or item within the frame using appropriate techniques to ensure it remains secure and undamaged. This might involve using mounting corners, adhesive tapes, or other mounting hardware.
- Matting and Mounting: If the customer chooses matting, you'll cut the mat board to size and mount the artwork within the mat. This process requires precision to ensure the artwork is centred and presented aesthetically.
- Finishing Touches: Once the framing is complete, clean the glass, remove any dust or debris, and make sure the frame is in pristine condition before presenting it to the customer.
- Quality Control: Throughout the framing process, maintain high standards of quality to ensure the finished product meets or exceeds customer expectations. This involves attention to detail and the ability to spot and correct any errors or imperfections.
