Main purpose of the job:
Operate and lead a plant team to achieve product quality and maximum throughput while minimizing waste, ensure continuous improvement initiative while doing so.
Preferred Requirements
- Matric with Maths and Science
- Or N3 Certificate in Food Processing
- Certificate in Production Management
- Formal Leadership/Management Training
Knowledge:
- Food/Fruit Processing and Technology Knowledge of the practical application of fruit processing and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment for the production of food products.
- Production and Processing Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of dairy and related products.
- Knowledge of the process, product, processing requirements, maintenance procedures, cleaning procedures, health and safety procedures, HACCP, ISO and general manufacturing practices
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting techniques.
Skills:
- Monitoring/Assessing performance/development of product make improvements or take corrective action on the processing thereof.
- Coaching and development of team members
