Procurement Manager - South Africa
Requirements Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or Related 4 years of experience 2 years’ experience in Management Logistics/ Courier Industry beneficial Knowledge of procurement methods and procedures including purchasing contract management Knowledge of category strategy and management Proficiency in MS-Office suite Good geographical knowledge Responsibilities Sourcing: Identifying potential suppliers, evaluating their capabilities, and selecting the most suitable ones based on quality, price, reliability, and other criteria. Supplier Management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing ongoing supplier performance to ensure timely delivery and quality standards are met. Cost Management: Analyzing costs, conducting cost-benefit analyses, negotiating prices, and implementing cost-saving strategies while maintaining quality standards. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with various departments within the organization, such as finance, operations, and marketing, to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with overall business objectives. Effective communication with stakeholders is crucial for successful procurement operations. Data Analysis and Reporting: Collecting and analyzing procurement data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and to generate reports that aid in decision-making and strategy development. Procurement Strategy: Developing and implementing procurement strategies aligned with the organization's goals, such as reducing costs, improving efficiency, or ensuring sustainability. Contract Management: Drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure compliance, manage risks, and resolve disputes if they arise. Compliance and Regulations: Ensuring that procurement processes comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, especially regarding ethical sourcing, environmental sustainability, and fair trade practices. Inventory Management: Collaborating with other departments to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and optimize stock levels to prevent overstocking or shortages. Risk Management: Identifying potential risks in the supply chain, such as supplier disruptions, geopolitical issues, or quality concerns, and developing strategies to mitigate these risks.
