Our client is an international independent power producer specializing in renewable energy. This role is a permanent one based in Johannesburg. Manage the purchasing and logistics process for all respective South Africa plants including requisition and purchase order management, supplier management, tendering, negotiating and contracting, expediting, logistics capacity planning, transportation, to ensure that the requirements of the users are met in a cost-efficient manner, in compliance with company's supply chain policies and quality standards. whilst meeting service standards and ensuring cost efficiencies. Requirements: Relevant degree or national diploma 10 years' experience, with some experience in the Power industry Skills: Understanding of the ERP system and vendor management Portal Team management skills Knowledge of law/regulations and contracts Understanding of supply chain management process Advanced planning and organizing Skills Advanced communication skills Exceptional negotiation skills Ability to develop relationships with new vendors / ports / customs Ability to identify and implement improvements Ability to deliver under pressure situations. Regularly report to the Head of Supply Chain Africa Cluster on the operational activities of department, challenges and issues faced, mitigations taken, etc. as required, to keep them informed and updated on the division's activities. Contribute to the preparation of the department's budget and manage and monitor the financial performance against the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon. Coordinate between the Contracting and Sourcing Manager and the business to understand the long-term contracts with key suppliers and leverage those contracts, in case of a request from the business, to ensure cost efficiencies and reduce the PR to PO time. Lead the purchase order (PO) process including liaising between the supplier and internal stakeholders, initiating and negotiating the contract, obtaining the necessary approvals on related documentation as well as the purchase order to ensure adherence to specifications and the defined procedures. Lead negotiations and finalization of quotations including all internal documentation (with emphasis on specifications, quality, price, terms, deliveries) to ensure that purchase requisitions are converted to purchase orders in an efficient and timely manner adhering to the department KPI's. Oversee and guide the preparation of the logistics plan in alignment with the operations and procurement plans to ensure both supply & demand sides are aligned, balanced, and realistic. Maintain productive business relationships with key suppliers in South Africa / other countries and follow up with them on issues escalated by the procurement and contracting supervisors, resolving any grievances and related claims to ensure timely order receipt and complaint resolution. Ensure the implementation of department policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service. Ensure that all functional reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet the company's requirements, policies and quality standards. Ensure continuous monitoring of KPI and Objectives and monthly reporting to Head of Supply Chain Africa Cluster.
