Product Owner - Cape Town City Centre

The role of the Product Owner is to own and manage the entire lifecycle of specific tech products, ensuring the creation of valuable, sustainable, and reusable solutions that meet the needs and expectations of customers and/or stakeholders. This role involves collaborating closely with Business and Subject Matter Experts to gather requirements for product capabilities that serve customers and align with business objectives.Product Vision 1. Work with stakeholders to create and repeatedly communicate the product vision. Stakeholders include customers, business managers, development team.2. Create clear product goals and vision aligned to business objectives.3. Creates, shares and keeps the product roadmap updated. Documents requirements with input from various3. Assists in identifying the required resources for the delivery of tech products. Product Backlog 1. Maintain an ordered list of items that the scrum team needs to complete to achieve the strategic direction as defined in the product roadmap.2. Consults, develops and communicate the product goal, create and clearly communicate product backlog items, and order the backlog to maximize business value.3. Maintain the product backlog, making it transparent, accessible and available to all stakeholders.4. Ensure alignment amongst stakeholders on the backlog. Prioritizing needs 1. Balance scope, budget and time, weighing priorities and making trade-offs according to the needs and objectives of stakeholders.2. Communicate the trade-offs to management and other stakeholders. Participate in Scrum events 1. Participate in sprint planning, sprint reviews and retros and backlog refinement.2. In sprint planning, present the product improvements based on stakeholder feedback. Work with developers to define the sprint goal and which backlog items to include and discuss how the team will complete the chosen work.3. Continually work with the developers to refine the product backlog items.4. Ensure all requirements are met and related testing has been conducted prior to deployments5. Manage comprehensive product documentation as part of the product IP management framework and contribute to further improvements Stakeholder Management 1. Primary communicator between stakeholders and teams.2. Obtain buy-in from stakeholders on all major decisions.3. Provide clear instructions and deliverables for the developers.4. Develop and maintain customer journey maps to create a shared vision for the customer experience Feedback 1. Primary role in inspecting and evaluating the product progress through each iteration. Gather feedback at each iteration and adapt the product backlog based on feedback.Minimum Requirements Degree in Analytics, IT, Engineering or relevant field4-years’ experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst or Logistical Planning roleExperience in technical system design Apply Now
