ABOUT THE COMPANY Proudly South African manufacturer, established for over 100 years. PURPOSE/MAIN JOB FUNCTION The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production process , coordinating all production activities and operations using Lean Principals , with specific emphasis on Quality Yield . The Production Manager is responsible for planning and drawing up a production schedule, deciding on and ordering the resources that are required and ensuring stock levels remain adequate. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Report on the adoption of Lean Manufacturing with the aim of eliminating waste, maximizing efficiency, and improving quality of work completed by adopting a mindset of continuous improvement. Actively manage (main measurement) the achieving of a stable production environment and a Quality Yield of at least 95% (scheduling Actively managing Service Level Agreement (SLA) to a minimum of at least 98%. Reporting on the team's environment housekeeping on a weekly basis. Report on the status of a safe work environment by implementing best practice in Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures. Provide input on staff recognition programs. PERSONAL PROFILE & LEADERSHIP ESSENCE Good leadership training and qualities. Manufacturing experience (paper industry/ machining shop/ QC/ turning/ milling) Good leadership training and qualities Experience in Lean Manufacturing (or achieve their yellow belt in Lean Manufacturing within the first 3 months of employment). Planning & scheduling experience in a production environment Understanding of machines R20,000 – R30,000 pm Annual Performance based bonus, provident fund, company shares (BEE)
