The New Zealand High Commission (NZHC) in Pretoria is seeking a locally employed Development Programme Coordinator to support our team deliver our purpose of acting in the world to build a safer, more prosperous and more sustainable future. In this position, you will be responsible for contributing to the advancement of New Zealand's International Development Cooperation programme in southern Africa, as well as New Zealand's objectives more broadly in South Africa and the region. You will do this by managing New Zealand's projects in coordination with capital, including the monitoring of deliverables, maintaining oversight of timelines and budgets, and the development of progress reports. This role may require periodic travel within South Africa and the wider region. The NZHC is seeking highly motivated candidates with a relevant tertiary qualification. You will have at least three years' relevant experience in managing development projects; but exceptional entry-level candidates will be considered on a case-by-case basis. You will have a sound knowledge of Southern Africa's development priorities and challenges. You will also have a strong delivery focus and be able to demonstrate initiative and work both independently and as part of a small team. Experience in agricultural development issues would also be an advantage to the successful candidate. Your strong written and oral English skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders will be key to your success. The indicative starting salary for the role will be in the range of Rd. 471,000 to Rd. 513,790 gross (before tax and deductions).
