Seeking a Project Finance Manager in Renewable Energy We're looking for a talented and experienced Project Finance Manager to join a leading player in the renewable energy sector in South Africa. This role is crucial in shaping and driving the financial strategy of our green energy initiatives from start to finish. If you have a strong background in finance, a knack for complex financial structures, and a passion for sustainability, this opportunity is for you Key Responsibilities: Financial Modelling and Analysis: Craft and refine detailed financial models to assess project feasibility, including cash flow projections, sensitivity analysis, and key investment metrics (NPV, IRR). Conduct thorough financial analyses to evaluate project risks and pinpoint optimization opportunities. Funding and Capital Raising: Collaborate with various funding sources such as commercial banks, development finance institutions, private equity investors, and public grants. Negotiate financing terms to align with project goals and financial viability. Due Diligence and Risk Assessment: Lead financial due diligence efforts, coordinating with legal, technical, and environmental teams. Identify potential financial risks like market volatility and regulatory changes, developing strategies to mitigate these risks. Financial Structuring: Design and recommend optimal financial structures for projects, ensuring alignment with stakeholder interests while maximizing returns and minimizing costs. Assess and propose various financing options, including debt, equity, and hybrid structures. Reporting and Compliance: Create business case presentations and updates for stakeholders, including the board and shareholders. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, investors, and key stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, MBA, CA(SA), FMVA, CPFA) are a plus. At least 5 years of experience in project finance, investment banking, or corporate finance, with a focus on renewable energy or infrastructure projects. Proven expertise in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and risk analysis, with a successful track record in structuring and closing complex financing deals. Strong negotiation and communication skills, capable of influencing diverse stakeholders. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and specialized project finance modelling software.
