Project Manager - - South Africa

An exciting opportunity has come available at one of South Africa's largest black-empowered resource companies and top 5 coal producers. We are looking for a Project Manager to direct and manage project development for the duration of the project phase, to develop project plans and estimate the resources needed to achieve project goals and to manage risk that could impact on project outcomes. Qualifications and Experience:B Eng Degree - minimumDiploma in Project Management - desirablePr Eng / Pr Tech Eng - desirableMinimum of 5 years relevant operational experience in a mining / plant / production environment Minimum of 5 years exerience in a Project Management role preferredDuties:Manage and ensure optimal use of budget allocated to project. Create and execute project work plans and revise accordingly to meet changing needs and requirements of projects.Identify resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities. Where required, negotiate with functional heads for the acquisition of required human resources for cross-functional expert consultation within the company and externally.Take action to mitigate and manage risks that can impact on the project. Effective use of engineering standards, principles and practice for the discipline for the planning, design and implementation of engineering outcomes to support the business unit or specific projects.Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.Supervise and ensure the execution of projects in adherence to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and service delivery standards for all service delivery.Supervise day-to-day operational aspects of a project.Controls to ensure legal compliance within designated area. Application of controls to ensure legal and best practice compliance in accordance with the MHSA (Mine Health and Safety Act), MPRDA (Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act), OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) where applicable. Implementation of effective SHE management systems for project. Provide and participate in governance systems for best practice. Adhere to the requirements of quality management systems. Ensure compliance to environmental Record of Decision (RoD).Adhere to Project Management Standards. Ensure document control via centralised capturing system specified by the company.Ensure & maintain a healthy environment, safe operations & practices. Responsible for own safety & for the clients. Compliance to all applicable SHE policies & procedures in line with set standards. Report defects & incidents. Ensure good housekeeping principles are upheld in the work place.Embrace and live company's values. Provide inputs for the planning and recommendations for staff to be efficiently deployed and identification of areas of further development (projects and training). Manage the project team. Coaching of staff members.Execute responsibilities in a manner that is in accordance to guidelines and standards associated with quality service delivery of project management services and consultation provided by the incumbent, in a manner that is aligned to the services framework and consistent with customer agreements. Identify service performance improvement opportunities associated with area of responsibility. Contribute to gathering of customer feedback as required by Group Manager, Service Management to ensure that customers within the company are satisfied with the delivery of project management services.Update knowledge of project management best practice. Participate in the evaluation of discipline-specific standards, principles and practice to enable planning, design and implementation of project outcomes that support the business strategy.Participate in the implementation of appropriate quality management systems to ensure delivery of high quality projects.
