The project manager manages key projects to ensure the successful execution of all projects within the business: To deliver projects on time within the agreed budget To initiate, plan, execute, monitor and close projects To guide, plan, communicate, coordinate, lead, support and report on projects being executed Ensure full compliance to industry legal and regulatory requirements and identify and act on any potential infringements to minimize implications Ensure Quality Assurance compliance on all aspects of the project Foster good relationship with our customers Resolving escalated project issues Provide leadership and direction for project execution through effective and continual communication with all stakeholders. Drive continuous cost reduction on the technical component of the execution of projects Report on project profitability and net cash position to management Operate within the allocated project budget Clearly communicate, drive and manage financial targets with all departments related to customer deliverables within the approved project budget and plan Manage relevant supplier contracts/orders, progress and deliverables within the approved budget Manage the project budget, profitability and cost to completion during execution of the project and report on progress Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis. Manage the project in terms of the agreed deliverables and related conditions Initiate, develop and implement tailored project execution plans in collaboration with various stakeholders taking into account legislative and regulatory requirements and project management best practices Regularly assess plans against changing stakeholder demands and redirect efforts as necessary Assist Business Development in establishing a proposal response by supporting the quotation process, creating statement of works and initial project schedules Consolidate all project planning and technical input to ensure an executable proposal. Ensure adherence to Project Management processes and procedures Structure and manage the scope of work, work breakdown structure and associated tasks Plan, manage and monitor the project schedule, report on actual vs planned schedule Plan, request and coordinate the resources required to execute the project plan Ensure resource availability and allocation by creating a master project schedule of all DCDI projects Coordinate, manage and resolve stakeholder project issues raised Ensure the project is executed in line with the business processes, applications, standards and procedures Ensure all configuration aspects are maintained throughout and project lifecycle Ensure all quality aspects are maintained throughout the project lifecycle Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals. Identify risks through risk management plans, develop contingency plans and report and escalate accordingly, report on progress monthly Drive continuous improvement of project processes Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques. Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects Ensure that all projects are delivered on- time, within scope and within budget Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility Ensure timeous applications of all contracting permits, end user certificates and import and export permits throughout the project lifecycle Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A relevant technical engineering qualification A degree/diploma in Project Management Project Management Professional Certification (advantageous) EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Substantial experience in the Engineering/High Tech/Defence industry At least 5 years' experience in a Project Management role Exposure to the military environment (advantageous) Experience in all facets of the project management cycle Sound experience in Microsoft Word, Project and Teams Sound experience in projected project financial cost estimations and estimate to complete Sound experience in Project Management related to Engineering, Software Engineering, Production and Product Support Basic financial management acumen Project Risk Management exposure Experience in quality management processes and practices Knowledge of technology development, testing and commissioning Industry and regulatory requirements and knowledge of legislation affecting project practices Contract management and legal aspects related to contracting INTERNAL/EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT Understanding robust business systems, applications, best practices, standards and supporting policies and procedures Exposure to ERP systems (such as IFS advantageous).
