Project Scheduler - Middelburg

We are currently looking for a Project Scheduler to join our team. This is a 12-month contract position based in the Middleburg area.

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Higher Diploma/Degree in technical field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Project Scheduler
  • Experience in developing project-specific and high-level milestone deliverable master plans to meet defined business objectives
  • Planning and coordination
  • In possession of a valid Certificate of Fitness, or be able to obtain one
  • Interpersonal skills Teamwork, Cross-Cultural Awareness and Stress tolerance
  • Analytical skills Good judgment, Information gathering, problem Analysis and Technical Skills and Competence
  • Innovation and Oral Communication Skills
  • Operational insight A concern for excellence and execution

Job Description:

  • Assist in preparing and keeping master plans for the overall SIB project portfolio as well as subproject plans for monitoring and tracking the requirements
  • Create project timelines
  • Compile Work Breakdown Structures in creating project schedules and estimates
  • With Project Manager, update master and sub-project plans with new information as changes occur
  • Monitor dependencies affected by changes.
  • Provide key data to Project Manager to update project status and impact (e.g. timelines, budget, resources, and delays)
  • Communicate any schedule conflicts, resource constraints, and time constraints to the Project Manager
  • Communicate and publish plans to appropriate involved individuals to ensure each person understands the overall scope of the project, and when tasks are required to begin and be completed
  • Utilize relevant project management software applications to develop project schedules
  • Review each project periodically to ensure projects are on time and within cost projections
  • Prepare an executive summary of all exceptions on projects, inclusive of tasks that are behind schedule, tasks that are competing for the same resource, conflicting priorities and exemplary performance, etc.
  • Provide planning and resource allocation services that support the project schedule
  • Support the preparation of progress reports, standardized reporting procedures and the monitoring of overall project performance
  • Provide information for monthly reporting to OPCO
