Purchasing Lead - Midrand

MINIMUN REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum Matric exemption certificate required.
  • Preferred bachelor´s degree (or higher) in a procurement/ supply chain related field.
  • Preferred 5 years of experience in Supply Chain environment.
  • Ideally Navision experience, but experience of purchasing in an ERP environment preferred.
  • Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel (intermediate/advanced)
  1. 1. GENERAL SUMMARY:

This hands-on role is central to the success of our department, as such you will be a highly focused, results driven individual with demonstrable experience of managing change, process improvement, and achieving organisational profitability. You will have experience of inventory management activities within a distribution supply chain focused on delivering excellent customer service whilst balancing financial objectives. You will have experience of leading and developing others. You will be self-motivated and a confident decision maker, used to working autonomously within set guidelines. Position would ideally suit someone from a wholesale/distribution or FMCG background.

  1. 2. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the effective management and supervision of the Purchasing team (5) comprising Buyers, Demand Planner, Master Data & Logistics

  • Drive team to achieve & maintain Fill Rate for stocked lines at or above agreed KPIs by ensuring effective replenishment through consistent open order book management.

  • Drive team to manage supply chain and identify any corrective actions required. At all times ensuring good quality communication occurs within the business to maximise customer service

  • Drive team to manage inventory targets to meet working capital requirements including but not limited to reductions in expired products, inventory turns improvement and reduction in financial reserves.

  • Ensure that all relevant supplier details and product price information is accurately maintained on the appropriate system to enable effective investment opportunities to be attained.

  • Work with MD to take ownership of Supplier Contracts including Rebate agreements, working with Finance to manage accrual process

  • Ensure Freight costs are managed to optimise costs for the supply chain, working with the European Freight team & EMEA Customs Specialist to implement Best Practice policies and ensure Commodity Classifications & INCO terms are accurately maintained.

  • Develop internal relationships, influencing key internal customers to promote professional purchasing principals across the business ensuring timely communication and problem resolution.

  • Define, develop, and provide regular reporting as required Including Key Performance Metrics for supply chain management.

  • Develop Best Practice Guidelines and ensure Training Matrix is managed to bring all direct reports to the highest level of skill set required for their role and that all Playbooks are in line with current needs to meet the business objectives.

  • Manage and Maintain compliance to Company Quality Systems, Sarbanes Oxley regulations and all other appropriate Regulatory bodies. (e.g. SAPHRA)

  • Constantly review and suggest improvements to processes to bring efficiencies/cost savings to the Supply Chain
