Purpose To provide results driven leadership to the purchasing, planning and shipping. To proactively obtain industry trend data and provide timely feedback to our client's Management Team To provide input and data to support our client ongoing budgeting and strategic planning process. To identify and develop strategic suppliers / partnerships to support our client business goals. Duties and Responsibilities Costing of products for regular purchase and get approval as per procedure Negotiate with suppliers on cost reduction and approval from Team Leader Materials Responsible for releasing Purchase Orders, Purchase Schedules & amendments to the Vendors as per authority limits Responsible for purchase of consumables Monitoring stock for optimum inventory To ensure prompt return of defective material to suppliers Responsible for attending to vendor problems with respect to delivery and quality through co-ordination with related departments and agencies Ensuring regular follow-up with suppliers for timely delivery of materials Maintaining good relation with vendors, providing them guidance and technical support Responsible for assessing urgencies in advance and taking proactive actions Ensure adherence to all laid down quality systems Responsible for assessing urgencies in advance and taking proactive actions Generating and communicating MIS to Team Leader Materials/ MCO Documentation and implementation as per ISO and TS Quality standards Prompt resolution of commercial matters with the Suppliers including regular reconciliation of accounts & materials Working in close coordination with Accounts Department for payments and reconciliation Responsible for ensuring the right material at right time for all regular components Leading team of purchase to achieve Key Result Areas and improve overall efficiency keeping their motivation and moral high Liaising with suppliers/ forwarding agents/transporters, for ensuring smooth operations, systems and procedures for distribution and logistics Developing and approving IMS documents where required Identifying IMS related problems encountered in the area of activity Initiating action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity related to Quality, Environment, Health and Safety Initiating, recommending and providing solutions through designated channels Verifying the effectiveness of solutions implemented, and Control of nonconforming products / activities in the areaPlease note that the above-mentioned responsibilities are not absolute; the positions are required to handle various other tasks related to the function or as assigned, from time to time . Personal Specifications Should have good negotiating skills and verbal and written communication skills Skillful in planning and analyzing the requirements of the production department Ability to design specifications for the raw materials to be ordered Skilled at researching the market, looking for potential suppliers and designing quotations for the purchase order Well-versed with the traditional as well as advanced methods used in inventory control Have initiative and be able to perform well under pressure Accuracy of work with attention to detail and neatness Team player Problem solving skills Must willing to work shifts and overtime where required Good command of English language Qualifications and Experience Diploma in Material Handling Minimum 5 years Material management experience Valid Driver's license
