Aspen Logistics, an established specialist in time and temperature sensitive goods transportation, is seeking an Qualified Transport Technician responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles, trailers, refridgeration units and transportation systems. This role involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of various transport equipment, adhering to regulatory standards, and providing technical support for the transportation fleet. The ideal candidate should have experience with Mercedes and MAN vehicles. Maintenance and Repair: Conduct regular maintenance on vehicles, trailers and refrigeration units. Perform diagnostics and repairs to ensure vehicles are safe and operational. Inspection: Carry out thorough inspections of vehicles and transportation systems to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns. Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to determine the root cause of problems. Installation: Install and calibrate new parts and systems, such as braking systems, engines, and electronic components, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including parts used, labor hours, and vehicle performance. Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards. Stay up-to-date with changes in transport regulations and technological advancements. Customer Service: Interact with drivers and other stakeholders to provide technical support, answer queries, and ensure their satisfaction with the maintenance services provided. Training: Provide guidance and training to junior technicians and apprentices, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment. Education : Qualified Technician with a Trade certificate through a recognised institution. Experience: Minimum 5 years post trade experience transport technician, mechanic, with a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, preferably on MERC vehicles. Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software, strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving abilities. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various environmental conditions, and stand for extended periods. Valid Drivers License - Code 14 will be advantageous. Technical proficiency in vehicle systems and components. Strong analytical and diagnostic skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
