Mechanical Technician - Johannesburg

  • Mechanical System Maintenance: The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
  • Equipment Repair and Service: Performing repairs and servicing mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensuring compliance with mechanical codes and regulations and promoting a safe working environment
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to identify mechanical system malfunctions or potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with mechanical systems and components.
  • Repair or replace faulty mechanical components, such as pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Install and assemble mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating parts and replacing filters.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings and diagrams to execute installations and repairs.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Maintain and calibrate mechanical equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Follow mechanical codes and regulations to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Keep accurate records of mechanical repairs, maintenance, and service history.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to colleagues and other team members.
  • Respond to mechanical emergencies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Stay updated with mechanical codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanical technicians, if applicable.
  • Maintain inventory of mechanical parts, equipment, and supplies and coordinate their procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Follow safe work practices and procedures when working with mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with mechanical equipment and machinery.
  • Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of mechanical system maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair practices.
  • Understanding of mechanical principles, codes, and regulations.
  • Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical system issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and diagrams.
  • Familiarity with mechanical tools and equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, such as HVAC, pumps, and conveyors.
  • Good record-keeping and organizational skills.
