Quality Controller (Food Technologist) - Cape Town City Centre

Responsibilities

  • Supplier/COA verification
  • Incoming raw material and packaging inspections & analysis
  • QC documentation for incoming RM
  • Verifying batch code and traceability requirements.
  • Raw material checks and approval before packing/ sorting
  • Daily QC record sheets documentation
  • Weekly QC records documentation
  • Monthly QC checks & documentation
  • Retention sample collection & documentation
  • Grading of raw materials as per procedures in place
  • Verification of packed/ hand sorted product
  • Recording and keeping dispatch record sheets
  • Inspection of product before dispatch
  • Ensure all deliveries are sent with a COA/ COC
  • Ensure all products leaving the company comply with predetermined requirements
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning inspections and documentation
  • Pre-start and close-down cleaning inspection & approval
  • Reporting any Non-conforming (NC) product to QA Manager and relevant manager
  • Control & release of NC after approval by QA Manager and relevant manager
  • Documentation for all NC product and trending (NCR register & Log, FO Trending for hand sorted stock)
  • Undertake actions to rectify the situation when non-compliant product are detected
  • Ensuring that relevant management sign of any concession on non-conforming product
  • Ensuring all forms are completed fully, legibly and correctly.
  • Filing of records correctly
  • Making sure that relevant revision numbers are used
  • Ensuring that quality equipment such as scales, metal detectors etc are working effectively.
  • Ensuring that equipment’s are calibrated.

Requirements

  • National Diploma Food Technology
  • 3 years QC experience in the Food Industry
  • Exposure to FSSC 22000
  • Only SA citizens will be considered
