Recruitment and Selection Specialist Market Related - East London

As a Recruitment and Selection Specialist at the University, you will be responsible for attracting, sourcing, and selecting top talent to support the University's academic and administrative functions. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will develop and implement recruitment strategies, manage the selection process, and ensure a positive candidate experience. Your role will be critical in identifying and acquiring individuals who align with the University's values, culture, and strategic goals. As the Recruitment Specialist you will be working in partnership with internal stakeholders, senior managers, and HR on all aspects of internal and external recruitment. You will act as a subject matter expert for recruitment and help to improve and implement the current process, championing best practice recruitment and striving to deliver excellent customer experience. This is a Hybird position 70% Remote and 30% on Site East London at University of Fort Hare. 1. Talent Sourcing: Utilize various sourcing techniques (e.g., social media, professional associations) to identify and engage passive candidates. Build and maintain talent pipelines for key positions to ensure a steady flow of qualified candidates. Establish relationships with professional organizations, and other institutions to promote the University as an employer of choice. Support the full lifecycle recruitment process from requisition through to the on- boarding of candidates. Headhunt for talent, targeting passive candidates and approaching specific markets and organisations for roles. 2. Selection Process Management: Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and offer negotiation. Coordinate interview schedules and logistics, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for candidates and hiring teams. Arrange interviews and facilitate the conduct of competency-based interviews to assess candidates' qualifications, skills, and cultural fit alongside recruiting mangers as well as identifying and implementing screening assessments where appropriate. Prepare and facilitate the approval of Recruitment and Selection Reports. 3. Candidate Experience and Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process, providing timely communication and feedback. Ensure a positive candidate experience by delivering personalized and attentive service at every stage of the hiring process. Gather feedback from candidates to identify opportunities for process improvement and enhance the overall recruitment experience. 4. Compliance and Diversity Initiatives: Ensure compliance with University policies, employment laws, and regulations throughout the recruitment and selection process. Promote diversity and inclusion by attracting candidates from underrepresented groups. Honours or Master's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field. At least 5 years of experience in recruitment and selection, preferably in a higher education or similarly complex environment. Demonstrated expertise in sourcing, screening, and assessing candidates using a variety of methods. Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and best practices related to recruitment and selection. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment software/tools.
