The Training/Learning and Development Manager plays a critical role in supporting the professional growth and development of the University of Fort Hare community, contributing to the overall success and excellence of the institution. As the Training/Learning and Development Manager at the University of Fort Hare, you will be responsible for designing, or sourcing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training and development programs for staff. Your primary focus will be on fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development to enhance the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of the university community. 1.Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a strategic training and development plan aligned with the university's goals and objectives. 2.Program Design and Delivery/ Sourcing: Design, deliver, or source and evaluate a range of training programs, workshops, seminars, and other learning initiatives to meet the diverse needs of faculty, staff, and students. 3.Needs Assessment: Conduct regular needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training needs within the university community. 4.Training Facilitation: Facilitate training sessions and workshops, both in-person and virtually, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and skill development. 5.Resource Management: Manage training resources, including budget allocation, training materials, facilities, and external training vendors. 6.Evaluation and Feedback: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback mechanisms and performance metrics, adjusting as needed to improve outcomes. 7.Development: Provide guidance and support for individual professional development planning, including coaching, mentoring, and identifying external learning opportunities. 8.Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures related to training, learning, and development activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. 9.Collaboration: Collaborate with academic departments, administrative units, and external partners to promote a culture of learning and innovation across the university. Competencies Required: 1. Leadership: Ability to lead and inspire a team of training professionals and stakeholders towards common goals. 2. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences. 3. Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization. 4. Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. 5. Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. 6. Tech Savvy: Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), e-learning tools, and other technology platforms used for training and development purposes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Certification in training and development (e.g., CPTD, CPLP) is desirable. Additional certifications or qualifications in instructional design, project management, or related areas are a plus. Experience Required: Minimum of 6 years of experience in training and development, preferably in a higher education or academic environment. Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering training programs, workshops, and other learning interventions. Experience in conducting needs assessments, developing curriculum content, and evaluating training effectiveness. Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role, with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team. Market Releated Apply Now
