Unique Personnel boasts over 50 years (established in 1970) of personnel and staffing experience, so it's not surprising that even though our main focus has been providing on South African Staffing Solutions, we now recruit internationally for over 5000 clients Expected to be a busy restaurant, we seek an experienced Restaurant Manager (preferably South African national) to manage the staff and operation of our establishment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation of our restaurant's policies and procedures, and will participate in achieving our revenue objectives. The Restaurant Manager will ensure that staff remain compliant with all local, state and federal laws, and that customers' needs are promptly met. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION The Restaurant Manager's responsibilities shall include, but not limited to the following: • Maintaining the restaurant's revenue, profitability and quality goals. Ensure efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards. • Plans menus by consulting with chefs; estimates food costs and profits; adjusts menus. • Controls costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation; minimizing waste; ensuring high quality of preparation. • Avoids legal challenges by conforming to all the regulations and government laws • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations; securing revenues; developing and implementing disaster plans • Maintains ambiance by controlling lighting, background music, linen service, glassware, dinnerware, and utensil quality and placement; monitoring food presentation and service. • Need to have management skills and experience in both front and back of the house. • Must be able to oversee the dining room, check-in with customers and balance seating capacity. • The manager will be setting work schedules, oversee food prep and make sure to comply with health and safety restaurant regulations. • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity • The manager is expected to lead by example and uplift the staff during busy moments in a fast-paced environment. Ultimately, must ensure the restaurant runs smoothly and customers have pleasant dining experiences. • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints • Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues and expenses • Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts and social media ads) • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices • Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations • Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant General Manager, Hospitality Manager or similar role • Proven customer service experience as a manager Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff Strong leadership, motivational and people skills Acute financial management skills Fluent in English, Diploma/degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or culinary schooling is a plus Apply Now
