Our client in Cape Town is looking for a Retail Planner who meets the below minimum requirements. Interested candidates are invited to submit their application via the link provided.

Minimum Requirements:

Advanced computer skills in Excel required (v-lookups, pivot tables, complex formulas): Qlikview would be an advantage
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in related field
Previous work as a retail planner is essential (3-5 years experience)

Duties will include:

Conduct detailed weekly analysis on department performance,
Using available systems to extract and analyse historical data so that previous successes are identified and communicated to the management and come up with initiatives to improve sales performance
Analyse flow of stock into the business, spot trends and give possible solutions
Analyse and apply the Replenishment model (OTB) when in place
Project Promo stock and Sales, agree with the buyer and also pull Promo sales performance once Promotion has actualised
Do monthly sales forecasting and share that with the buyer and suppliers to give them an indication of how much stock we likely to order
Monitor store and product performance, and make recommendations in order to maximise sales, minimise markdowns and ensure proper/correct allocation of stock to stores
Analyse and evaluate a range of historical data relating to Departments / Groups and relate past performance of product to future buying plans – see 2 above
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers
Monitoring and managing of slow moving stock and avoidance of out of stocks
To develop an annual department operating plan with the buyer
To work with the buyer to define the category pricing (including price tiering) and promotions strategy to ensure the customer’s needs are met and remain competitive in the market
